I want to express my gratitude to the team at St. Vincent de Paul for the incredible work they do. They provide free food to families in need, and I have always found the people at the front to be kind, patient, and compassionate. It’s not easy managing the needs of many families while ensuring everyone gets their fair share, yet they handle it with grace.

It’s disappointing to see some people take advantage of this generosity, complaining after receiving free food. The volunteers are doing their best to help as many as possible, and it’s important to remember that there are others in need as well. This is not a restaurant or a service industry where people can demand more.

I’m truly grateful for the selfless work done by the staff here, and I believe we should appreciate their efforts instead of criticizing them.

Thank you, St. Vincent de Paul, for all that you do.

I called and left a message 3-4 weeks ago. Got no response. I filled out the application form and got no response. I called just now and had a woman jerk my chain. I am homeless living in a borrowed car with a dog. I can’t get a job food or help. I’m ready to quit

I received help from this place , last minute situation and was short a few hundred dollars. Not only did they cover my rent, they covered my Ga power bill and also gifted me a $50 gift card to target. God bless them.

St. Vincent de Paul Georgia, WOW, where do I start?
My family and I moved to Alpharetta back in March 2024 to find jobs and live! Me, my daughter, and grand daughters were living in between our car and hotels. My daughter was able to find a job in which we drove her every day and since she worked for a fast food place, we would eat there everyday for food. Eventually our car was repossessed because we were unable to make monthly payments. The car was our home when were not able to live in a hotel. I was looking for jobs, many jobs but never received any calls about an interview.
Now, our car was gone and my daughter lost her job as a result. Consequently, we can't live in the hotel anymore and now living on the streets in Alpharetta in parks and bus station stops with our dog.
We didn't have help, our family and friends knew our situation but refused to help. We walked the streets of Alpharetta everyday for months, 4 females, without protection, no food, no housing, no help, and no sympathy from onlookers, passing traffic or homeless shelters. Our situation was dire and it seemed no one card. People were judging us and couldn't help because they thought less of us due to our situation. No one thought to stop and ask us if we need help initially. However, we had a man who drove for lyft and a woman that attended a church in the area we walked, they stopped and asked if we were okay and offered some resources. We reached out to the resources and no one, I mean no one responded to our plead for help no other organizations. The only organization that responded expeditiously was St. Paul de Vincent. The representative was so nice, helpful, loving, and nonjudgmental. She called and sprung into action....that day they arranged for a hotel, uber ride, and food voucher. The most we had in months walking those streets.
We knew that we had to leave because we were not able to secure jobs therefore, our situation would have remained the same. So, I decided to email the representative at St. Paul de Vincent to ask if they help us get home. They called back the next day and got us an Uber back to our home town and before that gave us another food voucher.
This was the best experience I had with help in Alpharetta and frankly ever in life. I can't thank them enough for what they have done for 3 generations living out on the streets. THANK YOU
