Through the Express to Success program I was able to gain a better understanding of myself and my passions. It became clearer to me the career path I want to take, and I feel well equipped to take the next steps to pursuing that path and finding my place in the world. I would recommend the Express to Success program at Mission Community Skills Centre Society to anyone who is unsure of their career path. The facilitators and staff were so accepting of me despite my limitations. Being a part of this amazing program has made me more confident in what I can bring to the world.

I would recommend anyone struggling with looking for a job or struggling with figuring out who they are or what they want to do to take this program. It was incredibly beneficial to me in too many aspects to list, for example the assessments, they really helped me figure out what kind of person I am and how to coexist with others in the workplace as well as how to job search, prep for interviews and which careers you may want to pursue and other aspects about them I was unaware of before. All facilitators were kind, very patient, and always willing to give extra help when needed. Especially Helena, I appreciated her genuine nature. She was always willing to go the extra mile and really try to understand your specific needs, it was clear how much she cared about us getting the most out of this program and life moving forward. This program is something that gave me skills that will stay with me for life and will provide me opportunities I may not have been able to even see or attempt to achieve without the knowledge and confidence this program has provided to me.

The MYST program provides many opportunities and knowledge for youth beginning/re-entering the workforce or furthering an education. My facilitator Helena did an excellent job presenting and explaining every subject covered in the program and brought a very warm welcoming vibe. All of the guest speakers, WorkBC job search, activities and topics covered really stuck with me and I highly recommend anyone within the age range to take this course. On top of everything else being paid to attend every class is a great bonus. Thank you.

As being in this program I learned alot of good information as to be an entrepreneur.   Like to say my favourite day is an extra activity we got to do to make this class that much better. it was a lot of fun.  The thing I loved about this program was getting paid while you do the program. Was a real bonus.  Not only that you get to have these 2 wonderful people Jenna and Daina that you can enjoy during the progress of the program with. As they can be really supportive with your goal. They are also really good company on your journey haha. When I entered in this program i realize education is key to success you see other ideas and perspectives from experienced professionals. Gives you motives to go the distance on where you want to excel. Find your true potential in this experience. - Cory

I was at rock bottom when I was accepted into express to success. I had criminal allegations I had to fight before I lost my job for not being able to get vaccinated because of that incident. It was a terrible situation that caused me to become depressed and angry at the world and society. Being accepted into the express to success program probably saved me more than I even realized. Being told not only I was contributing member of society but that I had a value that employers are looking for allowed me to pick myself up from a difficult situation and move on. Now I have a better full time job and big aspirations to help society moving forward, becoming a fireman or something even better.

Firstly I’d like to thank both Daina and Jenna for instructing this program. I felt like I learn’t a lot not only from the programs we participated in but the conversations we had throughout the 10 weeks. I wish you both all success in the next group going forward!

I’d like to thank Daina for helping me with River when we were in person making the cedar bracelets at Heritage Park. And the jokes when we all went for the nature walk in Chilliwack. I felt I learnt a-lot during that walk from being able to identify different plants to the jokes our instructor made about the itchy bum Daina recorded on her phone. Hahah

Jeanna, I’d like to thank for allowing me to take part in the wildcraft program. Being extremely patient throughout the 10 weeks as well. You were an amazing instructor throughout even though we all bugged you to be in person, zoom was the only option and I felt it went extremely well 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed your holidays. Wish you could of joined us for the nature walk in Chilliwack. I do apologize I couldn’t find a sitter to attend the sturgeon fishing day but it looked extremely fun! Thank you for the opportunity to be apart of this program and all the classes and courses within the program.

The Manufacturing Youth Skills Training (MYST) Program is a program that really gets you thinking, while keeping it fun. You learn about the workforce for today, and for tomorrow. I’d highly recommend this program to anyone who needs some assistance integrating into the workforce, or who wants to add some certificates into their repertoire.
