I graduated from here five years ago and I don’t even think I could write a review long enough to accurately describe how horrible this school was. The teachers were either the best or the worst and majority of them were operating on favouritism based on if you were excelling in the class, or if you were on a sports team they coached. It was extremely difficult to ask for help/ study because teachers never stayed after class, and always had other things more important than helping students who were struggling. During my time I had a few students who particularly had some learning difficulties and the school never provided any source of help for them, or even aided them in any way. The students during my time were incredibly difficult to grow up with because it was an JK-8 school, you either were popular and life there was easy, or you weren’t popular and there would be drama every single day, and everyone knew everything all the time, including the teachers. There was no acceptance for LGBTQ+, which made people who were (including me) very uncomfortable and unsafe due to the homophobia which never got tackled in that school. Racism also was never tackled, and any form of bullying was ignored by teachers and faculty. If you were not liked by others you did not exist in that school and even with the 10 years you could spend there, it never got easier with that cliques and groups which excluded everyone and ran the social dynamics in that school. There was 0 funding for any music and arts programs, the funding for any program that is outside of the academic curriculum is nonexistent. I was very lucky to catch the end of the band program which was great because I am now studying music in university. There could have been more students like that if the funding was more focused. They do not care about their students and sports is the highest priority, you hear more about sports excellence than you do academic achievements. There are multiple more things I could say but genuinely I don’t want to, 0/10 school.

I’m pretty sure one of the teachers there is racist whenever my sister had something to say to him, she would ignore her words

My son went here and it was a very good experience. They offer healthy lunch and have a garden where the kids can get involved. They also have a very good sports and music program, and afternoon school drop off.

Enrolled my kid into basketball with the "James Bell Community School" and the first day it was sooo frustrating - one obscure door unlocked, no directions, no signs on gyms....so without knowing exactly where to go a person just gets lost. It shouldn't have to be so hard to fing Gym B and the door that's unlocked.
