In 4th year here and it’s always been bad. Dime bags are not uncommon around the school as well as every single bathroom smelling like a mixture of fruity smells with the air so thick with oil from vapes that I can barely breathe in there. Some teachers are nice some are not as much the tech and family studies departments are two where they both have amazing teachers. In languages, math and science the teachers are incredibly 50/50. Actual learning isn’t bad about 80% of the time. Library is good and is run well. Student activities/clubs can be fun but can also be inconsistent. Cafeteria was good until the staff retired and now we don’t have one. I encounter a lot of discriminatory people in the school as a queer person myself and I find that a lot of the schools budget goes twords sports while other departments like the foods and tech departments suffer with a more limited budget at least from my pov.

TL;DR school has a serious drug problem, teachers are 50/50, a lot of discrimination from other students, budget is weighted in sports, education is ok, certain departments and teachers are nicer and better than others

Despite my absolutely horrible experience at this highschool. Dylan leis & Diego Barnett saved my freaking life. They are my top best friends who helped me go through by far the toughest time of academic struggles when teachers would berate me for being not the brightest. Diego & Dylan if you guys see this remember you'll make more than half the miserable staff here (<3 Mr. Marlow)

This school doesn’t support IEP students, teacher make comments that their going to kms if students don’t get the answer right. There’s some teacher who really look out for their students and there’s other who just do it for the pay check

I know one teacher in mind doesn’t let kids use the bathroom till the very end of class and by the time that’s left there is no point in using the bathroom and your next period teacher would ask why you didn’t use it before and that’s bc 1. there to many people in the bathroom 2. your teacher didn’t let you

As a grade 11 student, for 3 years i have been put under the miserable control of the egotistical and irrational staff, mainly the vice principals. I have been lied to, manipulated, harassed and felt threatened numerous times all by Waterloo oxfords staff. During my days i spend here, i am in constant fear of getting blamed or in trouble for something i havent done, or getting harrased by teachers, insulted by our own vice principal, who still happens to work here. A miserable experience.

the school overall is nice, but the thing that is wrong the most is some of the staff (including the vice principles) are creating a not so welcoming, friendly, including and safe environment for the students who attend WO.

Went to school there. Surrounded by cow fields. The school had quite the drug problem when I attended. With all the bathroom fires, I'm surprised its still standing. We got picked on by the city kids but crushed them in rugby and Feild hockey. I survived 4 years. Even with all the deep dish pizzas and chocolate chip cookies in the caf.
